The Sirus ‘Switch’ is based on the Euro 5 Fiat Qubo M-Jet My Life: Semi-automatic 5 speed gearbox, 1.3 Litre Turbo Diesel engine.As standard the vehicle provides power steering, air conditioning, electric front windows, body coloured bumpers & electrically adjustable heated door mirrors, follow me home headlights, trip computer, remote central locking,16” alloy wheels, radio with CD player, 40W Hi-Fi sound system, 4 speakers, Blue&Me™ Bluetooth technology hands-free system with steering wheel mounted controls, Electronic stability control as standard (ESP),instrument panel with multifunctional display, MP3 file reader with USB port. Benefits of the conversion

The beauty of the ‘Switch’ is that the flat floor gives you total flexibility; at any point on your journey you can swap places with your companion. As standard with the car you have two front seats which fit in both positions. When you do want to switch places, simply unlock the seat using the quick release system, roll the chair backwards on the castors, re-position and lock into place. We can also offer you an optional fold down seat in the rear which accommodates two extra passengers.

Entering and exiting the vehicle

Full remote control of the rear end means you have the option of opening the vehicle from within the home to allow the tailgate to lift and ramp deploy whilst you make your way to the car. From here you can enter straight into the Switch, lock into position, close the vehicle (again remotely) and begin your journey to wherever you desire. To exit the vehicle simply press a button either on your key fob or dashboard and the fully automated rear end will open. Plus the fully automated ramp has a shallow incline and an anti-slip coating.

Operation of the vehicle

The vehicle has a fully automated push button gear selector for simple operation, with an electronic handbrake which is operated through the system. Sirus also fit an ergonomically designed centre console for increased interior space.

Fully automated crash tested devices offer you complete independence and ease – once in position, your wheelchair will automatically be locked into place and released with a simple push of a button. Alternatively you can choose a manual tie down system, or a combination of both if you plan to travel in both positions.

FAQ’s

How does the Qubo differ from the I Can in terms of features?

The Qubo is a smaller vehicle, so extremely easy to manoeuvre.
It also has a smaller engine therefore is more fuel efficient – 62 mpg compared to 50 mpg.

How does the Qubo differ from the I Can in terms of size internally?

It has a flexible layout of course, and offers both driver and passenger wheelchair solutions, and depending on the chairs.

How does the Qubo differ from the Kangoo in terms of size?

Dimensionally the Qubo gives you more space, also externally it is a slightly smaller vehicle.

Which wheelchairs can be used in the Qubo?

Generally, no different than any other drive from wheelchair vehicle, in the fact that there is no definite answer. There are so many different variations of chairs that can be adapted to be suitable to an individual; therefore we recommend a demonstration of the vehicle to determine this.

How do you move the seats in and out?

Both seats have a quick release slide mechanism. They have wheels, so they can be tilted back, so you don’t have to actually lift the seats out, you roll it backwards out of the vehicle and down the ramp.

Whats the maximum number of people within the car?

4 people with the fold down seat in the rear as an optional extra.

Yes, private sales – £1000. Through Motability the advanced payment and any vehicle extras are paid for on hand-over of the car.

Is the rear end always fully automated or is there a manual option?

he vehicle has a fully automated tailgate and ramp with full electrics.. The same as the I-Can, the rear end opens automatically by the push of a button.

Does the vehicle have lowering air suspension?

No, the conversion has a very lower floor pan anyway, so this wasn’t required.

At what degree is the ramp?

12 degrees, an extremely low ramp which is the current Motability requirement.
