Many people like to stay active, using their upper body strength as much as possible, or simply prefer the comfort of a standard drivers seat. The ‘Active’ has been developed in direct response to customer feedback giving you even more flexibility and choice for independent driving solutions.

The Sirus ‘Active’ is based on the 1.6 Turbo Diesel 7 speed DSG Automatic Caddy MPV. The new Euro 5 engine offering fuel efficiency of up to 54mpg and Low CO² emissions 149 g/km. As standard the vehicle provides power steering, climatic air conditioning, electric windows, electric heated mirrors, RDS Radio with CD player, body coloured bumpers & mirrors and 15” alloy wheels. Re-designed stylish front end, black roofbars as standard and new range of vibrant colours.

Features of the conversion

Say goodbye to transferring at the roadside in the rain…you no longer need to struggle by the side of your car, eliminating the risks and strains which can be encountered with external transfer. The ‘Active’ allows you to enter the vehicle from the rear, ascend the shallow ramp until your wheelchair is in position and once your chair is safely locked down, you manually transfer into the drivers seat. The ‘Active’ can offer an alternative to heavy roof boxes and offers quick and easy wheelchair stowage eliminating the need to dismantle your chair. The vehicle comes with a standard passenger seat in the front, plus you have the option of one fold down seat in the rear of the vehicle (depending on your chair).

The 6-way Power Transfer Seat™ from Ricon makes transfers from wheelchair to driver’s seat convenient and easy. It saves you valuable time too. At the touch of a fingertip, the fully automatic seat swivels up to 90 degrees to allow much easier transfers. Individual controls for front to rear travel and height give you complete control and comfort. The seat goes up, down, forward, back and rotation right and left.

Lowering suspension

The ‘Active’ has lowering rear suspension which means that once the ramp is deployed, you have a much lower floor entry point and an extremely shallow ramp angle.

How long will I have to wait for a vehicle?

We can discuss this with you once you have had a demonstration and we can see your exact requirements. Depending on our current orders and if you are going through Motability, you could have a vehicle on average within 12 -16 weeks.

Can I have a demonstration?

Yes, just let us know a time that suits you and we will come to your home for a free, no obligation demonstration.

Can I access this vehicle independently from my manual wheelchair?

This is dependent upon your ability to propel yourself up the ramp. It does have a low gradient, and some of our customers manage it with relative ease. However, you may find it easier with power-assisted wheels on your manual chair or a powerchair.

Do I need to be able to stand to transfer to the drivers seat?

No. The 6-way driver’s seat can be positioned to make it easier for you to do a sideways seated transfer straight from your wheelchair. We can also fit grab rails if necessary to make the transfer easier for you.

What’s the maximum seating capacity of the vehicle?

As standard there is seating for 2 people: the driver and one passenger. Depending upon the size of your wheelchair and how far forwards it is positioned for you to transfer from, there may be room at the rear of the vehicle for a single fold down seat – taking the seating capacity to 3 in total. This would be determined upon demonstration.
